Clough Family Group Charity Night

Pakenham Mazda has built its business as a family-owned operation that is known for its advocacy of the local community. The dealership and the Clough name go hand-in-hand since it began with Bruce Clough, the beloved businessman who passed from a battle of pancreatic cancer in 2013. In recognition and celebration of Bruce, a special race night fundraiser function is held each year. With five events held to date the Clough family have raised over $200,000 to fight pancreatic cancer and support local charitable causes.

Through the Clough Family Group Charity Night, the family behind Pakenham Mazda have gathered friends, colleagues, and the local community to Pakenham Racecourse in Tynong, where the funds raised go to support the wonderful team at Pancare (research into Pancreatic cancer) and Frankies Community Kitchen. The fundraising event sees the community enjoy a night of dining, auctions and awards with a great result of fun and funds raised toward these worthy causes.

The Pancare Foundation provides amazing support for sufferers of pancreatic cancer (and other upper GI cancers) and their families, while also researching for a cure and improved early screening & detection. Pancare fosters awareness for the disease and with their passionate team lead by CEO Doug Hawkins, we are proud to get behind their amazing contribution toward attacking this terrible cancer.

Hosting the event at the hub of the community is only fitting for what Bruce would have done if he hosted a fundraiser. He never got to see the racecourse completed, but eldest son Paul believed he would have loved it. Just as much as he would have loved giving back to numerous worthy charitable causes.

“Being locals, it’s important that you give back to the local community and the Foundation helps do that.” said Paul in his interview with the Pakenham Gazette.

Pancare’s GM Par5 Program, James Stewart on hand to receive much needed funds for pancreatic cancer research.

Frankies Community Kitchen Chairman Geoff Manson warmly accepts funds to assist with feeding those in need in the local community.
